McNearney Schmidt handled very different services (online in 2021 and in person, 2024) for each of my parents, as well as several other elements of a person's passing. In both cases, the kindness, detail-orientation, calmness, suggestions and options provided, and communication and coordination was both remarkable and deeply appreciated. For example, for the more recent death of our father, Joe managed working across 3 children in 3 time zones with ease -- and we had a lot of pieces to work through -- with dozens of emails, decisions, and items to track. From urns and scatter tubes, to potential memorial/ celebration sites, to the obituary, to the video, speakers, program and all other details for our Celebration of Life, all went very smoothly... and we kids were told by many who attended that the event "definitely did right by our dad" as well as by our mom. This truly gave us more peace of mind, and we are grateful.

McNearney-Schmidt Funeral Home has gone above and beyond our expectations during two of the most vulnerable, difficult things our family has experienced. I would recommend them, without question, over and over again. When our brother passed away suddenly in 2022, we called around to many places and after speaking with Joe, I knew we would go with McNearney-Schmidt. Joe’s genuine care and concern, attention to detail, patience and grace when dealing with difficult family members, and thinking of and offering even the smallest things that we never would have thought of, made a tremendously heartbreaking event and process much easier to handle. Our father recently passed away and it was without question that we chose to go back to McNearney-Schmidt. Joe and his team far exceeded our expectations again. One of the things I’ve appreciated the most was their willingness to “go with the flow” and do some things a little outside of the ordinary. Handling so many things at the last minute while my sister and I were scrambling to stay on top of things, Joe was so patient and understanding. I actually cried over the graciousness of their team, it’s like working with a loving friend - it felt like they cared just as much about us and what we were going through as they did their end of things. During and after the service, Amy was just as kind and thoughtful. Thank you Joe, Amy, and team for everything you do - you’re making a difference!

I've never had to plan for a funeral before, much less make arrangements and coordinate from the moment of death to the paperwork to what happens after - and everything in between. And yet, at no point during an unimaginable process, did I ever feel anything but empathy and support and professionalism every step of the way. From the inquiry stage, to planning the details, to the day of the funeral, to the care they provided for my mother - everything was above what I would have expected, and they helped make an understandably painful time a little less hard (which is deeply appreciated).
