Mr. Maitland handled my father’s final arrangements in 2008. The gravestone at Azalea Gardens in Columbia, NC was left for only my mother’s date to be added when she passed. He informed me that only ONE engraver was allowed to do the job at the cemetery he owned and I complied. I paid the first week after she passed. The stone was NOT engraved until at least five months past her death. And the wrong size font was used and now we end up with this. The engraving company recommended graciously refunded bc they did not notify me they could not match the engraving. Mr. Maitland basically said it was my problem. He had been considered an old “family friend”. I’ve learned a lot since then and I would NEVER recommend him to be used for a loved ones final arrangements. We are basically stuck with this unless we consider starting all over again. He claims to absorb absolutely no responsibility. Bad. Bad. Business.

Sharon and Billy are two of the most compassionate people I know. They treat you like family and take good care of your all your needs. They handled my Father's arrangements and did it with grace and the utmost care. I can not say enough good about all they did for our family during our loss of a great man, Tommy Ward.

Maitland Funeral home took care of my Daddy, Elwood Holliday. They treated my family like their own. They have also m taken care of other members of my family and also lots of my friends. When it’s my time to be layed to rest I cm know that the Maitlands , Billy & Sharon will give me & my family the respect we deserve.
