Let me start off by saying if I could give less than a one star rating I would but since that’s not an option I’ll have to settle with the one star just like my family had to settle for the level of service that was provided. The level of unprofessionalism and disrespect that was displayed by the director was unacceptable. If you are not from that town and don’t provide him with business do not expect to be treated with kindness, compassion, empathy or sympathy. This director was very bias and made it a point to inform us that he respected the other side of the family because they had provided him with so much business throughout the years. We provided the funeral home with a slide show that was never shown even though he was reminded numerous times. He kept saying pull him to the side during the funeral to remind him. We were told that zoom link would be provided for those that were unable to attend again he would repeat the same statement pull him to the side during ceremony. Zoom link was provided in the middle ceremony which was created with a cellphone by his assistant and those that were on the zoom only saw the back of the guest head but not the ceremony. Furthermore, when we got to the cemetery we were told that the casket was placed in the wrong direction and we could not witness the lowering of the casket because there was another funeral and that they have to call someone to turn casket around. If you are not from that town or culture you will face discrimination. People forget how to properly respect and comfort a family during such a difficult time. My advice to them is to learn to have empathy for others not just those you have a relationship with.

I have never witnessed such displays of unprofessionalism and lack of etiquette. It appears that this funeral home values profit over proper conduct, as evidenced by the funeral director’s aggressive behavior toward a grieving elderly woman praying in French and his use of threatening language towards a young lady defending her grandmother. This behavior undermines the family's ability to grieve properly. Cultural differences should not excuse placing the mother at the feet of the deceased son during the burial—a practice known to symbolize wishing death upon the parent. Such insensitivity is unacceptable, and while it may be a local custom in Palatka, it remains inappropriate. Additionally, the casket was positioned incorrectly, a detail that might have been overlooked due to the hostility directed towards the mother. The conduct witnessed at both the visitation and the funeral was deeply disturbing. Furthermore, it is troubling that the funeral home waited two days after receiving their first negative review to contact the still-grieving mother. This communication was merely to address the negative feedback from family members, highlighting their apparent concern for financial aspects rather than the well-being of their clients. The aggressive demeanor of the director at both services was palpable, and the presence of guards blocking the mother from paying her final respects was particularly distressing. As a business owner myself, I find it unacceptable that they did not make a simple gesture of sending flowers and an apology to a grieving customer. Instead, they chose to address the issue by mentioning the negative reviews, which were initially posted by friends rather than family members. This approach shows a lack of understanding and respect for the grieving process. I also noticed as of these recent posts they are going back to older reviews to say thank you to try to bury this and others, a very disgusting display of the lack of accountability.I implore you to take your business elsewhere.

My nephew passed away 07/21/2024. Unfortunately, since I was in Israel, I was unable to attend the service in person. To include me in the memorial, my family arranged a video call on Friday during the viewing. As my sister approached my nephew's body for a final farewell, the funeral director raised his voice and stated, “No pictures/no videos, put your phone down,” despite the absence of any clear signage indicating such a restriction. Once the director recognized that I was on the call, his demeanor softened, and he informed my sister that a Zoom link would be available for us to connect during the service the following day. However, this was not the case. When the Zoom link was eventually provided, it occurred in the middle of the service and was not properly set up. The link was shared through a personal cell phone by one of the funeral director's assistants, who was stationed at the back of the hall. This distance made it difficult for me to hear or see the proceedings. I am truly disappointed with the overall experience of this service. Unfortunately, no apologies can alleviate the situation, as it cannot be redone. I hope that no other families have to undergo a similar experience in the future.
