When my mother passed a number of years ago, I felt almost relieved that her struggle was over. She lived a hard life to be sure. When I walked through the doors of Johnson McBride the day of her funeral, I thought "My God, she's never looked prettier." All those years of hardship and illness had been erased somehow and she lay there, a peacefully sleeping woman, spearing 20 years younger than the day she fell ill just days ago. My cousins took me by the arm and said, "Say goodnight to your mom, isn't she beautiful Mike?" I agreed and we both stood there a long time marveling at the genius of Johnson-McBride funeral home.
