My review is belated, but necessary. I was recently reminded of the excellent service extended to me and my family after the death of my Mother nearly 14 years ago when planning the funeral of a very close friend in Colorado. Please accept my apologies for the delayed review. It has been nearly 14 years since I made the acquaintance of John Buettgen through my cousin after having had a horrendous experience with a different funeral home in the area after my Father’s death. From the time I met John until the last detail was completed, our family received nothing but the most honest, informative, compassionate service we could have hoped for. John & his staff attended to every detail and were quick to respond to any questions we had along the way. They were generous with their time and even though our Mother wanted a simple cremation and memorial service, we were treated with dignity and respect throughout the process. Words cannot express my family’s gratitude to John and his staff for underpromising and overdelivering in every possible way. It is easy to understand how his business has grown to having 3 locations: There was a definite need for funeral services operated with the integrity and compassion John and his staff extend to their clients. Thank you, John!

We used this funeral home when it was under a different owner and had a great experience 14 years ago. So we went back for mom's funeral. Considering the times we are currently in we were surprised that no one wore a mask while we met with them even after we said we preferred masks. The priest had told us how things should be handled in church but apparently no one informed the funeral staff nor did they ask as visitors were not directed to social distance and the church doors were closed so everyone lingered in the entrance. And the director wanted the family to sit together. We had to explain that we don't all live together. Our friends had a shocking experience when they asked where they should sit, the director mentioned the fact that masks had to be worn and "it was all Evers fault", even saying he was a jack_ _ _. Our friends did not reply. Aside from that we felt the director did not take our wishes into consideration and we had to insist on where we wanted mom viewed, where we wanted to sit in church (they did not put out reserved signs for the family which caused a problem) much discussion on the cards with mom's picture. There were no pictures of flowers we could order. Although Evolutions in Design did a wonderful job! I would not recommend this funeral home.

Every step was handled with compassion and care. I especially appreciate John stopping us in the parking lot to give me my mother's bracelet that I hadn't realized she had been wearing. I have worn it since. It was very reassuring that they could answer every question. They knew just what needed to be done. The process of figuring out death certificates and whatever probably would have been very frustrating if we had to handle it on our own. Sue was very pleasant, empathetic and compassionate.
