I had a disappointing experience with the JLApter funeral home. The funeral director, Jason, provided misleading information about burial service time and price at the time of the initial conversation. The service was shifted to the next day creating logistical challenges to the attending family members. He provided inaccurate information about medicaid payments eligibility, he charged for the not originally mentioned services, that way, doubling the originally given price. Also for 2 months I’m waiting for the death certificate he promised to mail. The service receipt copy was not mailed as promised but texted after several reminders

Funeral Director created a distressing situation during the funeral arrangements for my Aunt-In-Law. Initially, there were issues with the services and associated costs. The expenses unexpectedly increased after the body was collected, and the body was not prepared in a timely manner, leading to a rescheduled funeral that inconvenienced guests and visitors. This entire experience left my family and me deeply affected. We felt misinformed from the start and encountered confusion due to conflicting information. Additionally, we were asked to sign a waiver regarding Medicaid funeral payment without proper explanation. Furthermore, despite the passing occurring on July 9, 2023, we have not received the death certificate as of August 23, 2023, despite the funeral director's assurance of ordering them promptly from City Hall. While we cannot reverse the past, I feel compelled to caution others against choosing J. L. Apter Funeral Chapels based on our traumatic experience.
