Both my parents pass away within 7 weeks of each other. Jim took care of all the details of both funerals. There was no high pressure sales. Jim and his staff was professional and compassionate.

This isn’t a post bashing a business this is a just a honest review of my experience. My dad passed away at Baylor Scott & White in Dallas. We are not from the DFW metroplex, we live about 3 1/2-4 hours away. When my dad passed I had a limited amount of time to find a funeral home within the area to handle my dad’s remains and wishes. After calling multiple places the chaplain located at the hospital highly recommended this facility. I am currently struggling with a high risk pregnancy as well so I am limited on my mobility because I am on strict bed rest orders. The facility handled my dad’s cremation and paperwork extremely quickly which was great! They’re also very reasonably priced. However, when handling the paperwork with the funeral home I made a request to have a lock of my dad’s hair. I have been cutting his hair, picking out haircuts, etc for majority of my life so it was extremely important to me to have a piece of that memory. However someone misplaced the lock of hair and it really truly hurts my heart because cutting and styling my dad’s hair was a pretty big bonding experience for us. I understand I got my dad’s ashes back and I am extremely appreciative of that but my dad’s hair still counts as part of his remains no matter how small or insignificant it may be to others. I didn’t even know about the loss from the facility themselves either. I requested my MIL to pick up my dad’s remains because of my pregnancy and she was the one that notified when she went to pick him up. I think if a mistake happened within the business I should have been notified personally from them. I still have hope that they’ll find my dad’s hair. I don’t think this is a bad facility. I think they’re efficient at what they do but if you’re like me and you request a lock of your loved one’s hair just be careful. My dad’s hair wasn’t long and I am understanding of that to an extent but he has always had a lot of hair. The picture of his hair that I have was taken nearly three weeks before his passing. I understand it may have taken a small bag but that small bag is an extension of my dad. I have been my dad’s sole caregiver for 20+ years and getting everything that involves my dad is extremely important to me. I would still recommend this place but I would personally see about getting the lock of hair yourself before asking them.
