Generally, one doesn't have an opportunity to rave about their end of life decision-making experience! The staff at Hummel Funeral Home & Cremation guided us through this process with grace and dignity. After a sudden terminal diagnosis, our mother chose hospice as her care plan. This prompted an urgent need for her to create an end of life plan. Theresa immediately made an in home visit and talked us through our options. Although a short time was spent together, Theresa's impact on her/our mental well being was tremendous. It brought a sense of peace and closure knowing she would be in skillful hands. A great sense of relief was felt as my mother expected a much bigger price tag!! Once she passed, the transport team coordinated with the hospice team and a peaceful transition took place. The appreciated follow up contacts to check on us was an added bonus. Highly recommended!

It was a wonderful experience working with Hummel in Akron. They took care of both my parents, one year apart. Both times I worked with Kyle, and he was exceptional. He was reassuring and responded promptly to every call and email. My parents were members of the Cleveland Memorial Society, and when I said that, Kyle said "we know exactly what to do." And then he took care of everything, communicating with hospital staff, picking up the body, doing the cremation, getting the death certificates, and getting the obituaries and photos posted to the Hummel website. He never tried to sell me anything extra.
