My father in law passed away suddenly in August. We went to Frank J Barone to help us with the funeral planning and cremation services. We first met Robert, who was so helpful, sympathetic and kind. He helped us with answering all our questions and the steps needed to proceed with funeral planning. We then continued additional planning between holy cross and the funeral home with Chris and Theresa, also whom were all very helpful. When it was time for the funeral viewing services and the morning of cremation, Steve & Robert were professional, kind, funny and super helpful. We even met Oscar who prepped & dressed my father in law for the services. We are extremely happy at the attentiveness, care, empathy and assistance that everyone at Frank Barone partook in. The funeral home is a nice set up and all but the only problem is just some of the staff members just was a little bit too edgy and rude in a way it’s like if we’re coming there to celebrate a fallen love, one of ours, be more compassionate towards us shows some understanding don’t be quick to just catch an attitude etc. The least you could do is kind accommodate us when even a simple question is ask, I would give 3 1/2 stars because of this, but just try to do better for the future because everyone said the same thing on this…. But overall great funeral home

Story Time! Imagine the day of your mother's funeral (which you prepared and paid so much money for) you walk into the funeral home and all guests are inside crowded in the lobby/waiting area, because the doors are closed to enter the main funeral room. So you proceed to open the door to the main room, when employee by the name of Theresa pops out. No introduction or nothing but stops you dead in your tracks like she was security and refused to let anyone in. She also refused to get supervisor or call contacts. The funeral guest were forced to stay in lobby that had no AC for 45 minutes. Theresa was rude, disrespectful, inconsiderate, cold and unprofessional. She showed no remorse as she stood in front of the door and refused to let myself or my mother in, Her exact words were no one can come in because your not on the list, and she been given strict instructions by " the family to not let anyone in until family has arrived). Mind you we were the family she was speaking of, but being that Ms. Theresa didn't meet up with us aka "the family" earlier that day she didn't know who the family was and had no such list). Then proceeds to roll eyes stomp feet, and put hands up to block door. I then explained to Theresa who my mother and I was and gave her our names and all family member names to check this said list. But Theresa never moved. I then proceed to call my aunt on speaker who Theresa then realized she was communicating with the earlier that day via phonecall. On top of that My aunt was so confused to said list taht Theresa spoke of and stated that she told Theresa directlyto all names of siblings starting with my mothers name. Then Theresa noticed she messed up and goes oh your the sister she was referring to. No apologies. No remorse. No respect. She was so rude, I cannot stress this enough to move that way people who are grieving showed her character. So thanks to Theresa incompetence we wasted 45 minutes in lobby going back and forth which could of been solved with one call. Thats not even where it ends, they shut off the air conditioning about 4x in a crowded funeral home during the service filled with the elderly and children, and when asked about the AC, Theresa stated it was con edison like we were incompetant to the lights being on. To add insult to injury Ms. Theresa then proceeded to yell at my aunt towards the end of the night to state that she was not in the wrong and that we were wrong and stated that my aunt has a balance where the whole funeral home heard, and in reality, the bill was paid in full two weeks prior to funeral. Theresa stated that we had a charge for programs, which they never printed. All programs were made and printed by my mother. Could you imagine how my family and I feel? Mortified!!! . No one like that should be in that business at all. Your dealing with the public you should know better, and on top of that we're grieving. Good Customer service is not this funeral homes preference. worst experience of my life!!!
