I live in Michigan but my father lived in Florida so when he passed away on May 20th, I had to do all of the paperwork and communication with Forest Meadows by email and phone. My back-and-forth was mainly with Rebekah, their administrator. She stayed in touch with me throughout the entire process, answering all of my questions and addressing my concerns in a polite and professional matter. The problem came when the death certificates were not delivered in a timely manner. There were almost two weeks of delay between the time my father was cremated to when I received the certs via priority mail when ideally I should have been able to get them within that first week. (I'm still not sure what happened there, it could have been on the Health Department or technical error). Given all of this took place before and after a holiday weekend I am very grateful for all the time and patience Forest Meadows had with me in my grieving state. Rebekah took time to listen and was very sympathetic to my situation. Although not all experiences are the same, I am thankful mine was a good one and I personally would recommend Forest Meadows Funeral Home.

Gene Carter and Otis Evans are well liked and respected in the High Springs area, When they owned and operated the funeral home that bears their names you were treated with love, respect and dignity. Not so anymore sadly to say. My mom Katie Hewett died on 1/24/2024, There was none of the love or attentiveness shown by the current staff of the funeral home as compared to Otis and Evans. The current staff and owners have a total lack of professionalism and customer service. If I could do over i would . I trusted the Evans and.Carters names and that's what the current owners and staff are banking on. 1

I wish I could give them 0 stars. My daughter passed away on October 25th, 2023. The office made a clerical error in regards to her birthday for her death certificate. They were more than willing to correct it and pay for the amended certificate. But when it came time to get the death certificate that was when all broke loose. Mr. Anthony White lost the certificate. He then stated that the vital statistics office never sent it. I called Jacksonville vital statistic and was told not only did they send it on February 21st but it was in fact to the attention of Mr. Anthony White. So once again I reached out to him and he said if you want one bad enough go get it from the health department. Because he don’t have it. As if dealing with the loss of a child isn’t enough, now I have to go and deal with paying for something that isn’t my fault.
