I chose Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home to provide care for my late father and host his Celebration of Life because it was close to home and they have experience working with Arlington Cemetery but after our experience, I would recommend them to everyone. Upon my father’s passing, Brian and Rylee arrived to take him into care and were extremely comforting and respectful. They patiently explained to our family what would happen next and what to expect in the coming days. The next day, Maria helped my brother and I plan a personalized celebration in which every detail reflected the beloved man that my father was. Maria walked us through each decision with sensitivity and explained different options clearly, without any sort of pressure. She accommodated all our requests and made the celebration feel very personal. She even arranged for my father’s best friend to ride his motorcycle right into the chapel to be displayed. On the day, Byron supported Maria and made sure everything went smoothly and we didn’t have to worry about anything except honoring our dad’s memory. I went to the funeral home multiple times to drop off items for the celebration and every time I walked in, Michael greeted me warmly, as if we had known one another for years. I cannot say enough good things about the Fairfax Memorial team and I am grateful for their guidance in navigating an extremely difficult time.

I sincerely appreciate the kindness and professionalism that You (Brian) and your staff, in providing Minnie my wife the "Bridge" from her passing, and leading her into eternity. All that came; admired the care, appearance, her Cosmetic look (not over-caking) and how they were taken knowing that Minnie was in save hands. The experience in Arlington National Cemetery, brought everyone to peace and also high pride. You were all part of this experience. Thank-you Brian and Staff Members. Be proud.

There are truly not enough words to express my sincere and profound gratitude to the staff at Fairfax Funeral Home and Cemetery—particularly Cathy Younkin, the kind-hearted Funeral Director, and also Akram Jaouni, the ever patient Family Service Advisor, for what they did for my mom, my dad, and me. I lost my mom on July 9th, 2024, which was absolutely the MOST DIFFICULT DAY OF MY LIFE thus far. Having to deal with such a loss was already so devastating. To deal with funeral arrangements… felt like I had to pour acid into a wound. I did NOT want to prepare for an EVENT that… I could not wrap my brain around in the first place. As I walked into Fairfax Memorial Home… another viewing was taking place. There was a heaviness there because people were grieving. I still had not hit that grieving phase…. I was still in a state of shock. Soon, my father and I met Cathy and Akram who came together to meet us in a conference room. Something about that first hello… put our hearts at immediate ease. We were going to be taken care of because… their greetings and kindness was so genuine. From having to pick a casket, to picking out a plot, from the hour by hour weekend funeral arrangements, to hanging up the chimes in the tree next to my mom’s grave… for me, everything was absolutely perfect. It was perfect… because of Cathy and Akram. They guided and supported my dad and I every step of the way in arranging, what I thought, was the most beautiful funeral service and burial that I could’ve ever imagined having my mom. We loved it so much that… my dad and I have already reserved the space next to my mom for when it’s our time to go. When the time comes… we will all be together again. Cathy and Akram… If you happen to read this, thank you is not a powerful enough words to say to you, but… with all my heart and my family’s hearts… we do thank you and feel we owe you so much. Fairfax Memorial… is our forever home now… thanks to you.
