Mr. Dowden is a very mean, insensitive, and rude individual. He treats the families of the deceased with disrespect and without care. My mom had to deal with his practice after the loss of both of my little brothers and he made it all about money. He tells women not to speak and has no problem telling them what to do. He even refused to give my mom my little brother’s ashes if she didn’t do what he told her to! I spoke to him on the phone and he spoke to me with complete disrespect. He has forgotten that he is dealing with the families of the deceased and he needs to step down from his position. Do not use Dowden Funeral Home!!

I went to a funeral of a friend on Jan 6..2024. What a train wreck. Mr Dowden started off yelling at people that there was no standing and to take a seat. He sat in his wheelchair for the whole service it's kinda rude if you ask me. After the service ended he started yelling at people to get all the flowers and pictures out of the service. They had service rented out from 2 to 6 but we were told to leave at 5 and the doors were locked behind us. I would never recommend anyone to use Dowden Funeral Home

My father made arrangements with Tyrone Dowden prior to his passing. I was visiting my father from out of state when he passed. I went over to finish up everything. Tyrone is quite the character which is why my father selected him. He has been in this business a long long time and runs things his way and says what he wants to. You need to settle in and allow him to do what he needs to or select another place. I found him funny, caring and tried to save us money.
