I can't say enough about the beautiful job the staff at Doherty did for my mom's funeral. From the very first phone call with Bill Doherty, to our appointment making arrangements, the multiple phone calls and e-mails with our questions and requests during the planning, to the actual service and burial, everything went amazingly smooth and with the utmost compassion and respect towards my family. My mom was Scottish and we wanted to honor her Scottish heritage. I dropped off several tartan table runners, scarves and various items for decorating the tables, as well as dozens of framed pictures, and a special table for guests to offer a Scottish toast to bid mom farewell. I thought l'd have to do the decorating myself, but was so relieved to see the place beautifully decked out as we arrived early for the family visitation hour. We didn't have to lift a finger, which was so appreciated. They arranged for a bagpiper at my request (he was amazing), arranged the details with our musician, created beautiful brochures and mass cards for the service, set up all the flowers, etc, and did a great job stopping traffic during the procession to All Saints Cemetery. In addition to the funeral service, they offer a complimentary meeting with their Family Care Consultant, Sandy Jones. She spent a couple hours assisting up with all the items we needed to take care of, like closing out accounts, pensions, social security, insurance policies, etc. She made many phone calls to the appropriate parties involved, saving us weeks of work. This was a huge help and was so much appreciated and unexpected. I had so many compliments from family and friends on how classy and beautiful everything was. My family and I cannot thank Bill Doherty, Martha, Rose, Sandy, and the rest of the wonderful staff enough for their compassion, patience, and overall professionalism. We will surely recommend your services to others when needed.

There's never an easy time when a loved one passes. Emotional turbulence is normal. Navigating the pathway for your beloved one can be confusing and tedious. Our Mom, Linda was the first to transition amongst our (her) immediate family. That put us in the novice category for having to manage Mom's final arrangements. From the very first call to John Yasik and Sandy, there was no gaps in service and professionalism. Bill consulted us all over arrangements, choosing a vessel for Mom, setting up timelines, placing the obituary in the paper and managing the insurance and other matters. Outstanding! The Buckley Family, Gene, Greg, Michele, Steve along with our spouses and children, cannot be more appreciative of the entire staff at Doherty Funeral Homes for making what is an uneasy affair, to one where we were all comfortable, including our many, many visitors who stopped by to share their hearts and stories. It was exactly what Mom wanted. Simple. Bill, Sandy, Kate, John and the entire staff, you made our day, because you made Mom's day. Thank you!

Martha and the whole group at Doherty Funeral Homes were great. They were understanding, Patient and very helpful. She made a very difficult time a little easier and I can't thank her enough.
