I know that most reviews for this business are very positive, and my family has used Dengler’s for years and years with no issue, but we recently had a very poor experience. The way that Gail Dengler (owner and supervisor) treated our family was unfortunately unprofessional and ignorant. If you cannot show empathy and respect to grieving families, maybe it’s time to retire from this field. We were made to feel like an inconvenience to him from the day our loved one had passed away. On the initial meeting to go over the premade funeral plans, our family was met with no compassion and plans were discussed in the lobby of the funeral home for 5 minutes while a viewing was occurring, offering us no privacy. Several weeks after our loved one passed away, we still did not have a death certificate that we needed to make important appointments. When calling to inquire about when we might receive it, Gail responded with a voicemail saying he was “tired of talking to us about this” and that it was “on his list”. He offered no explanation, which we would have been completely open to and understanding of, just that he was sick of telling us that he doesn’t have it yet. When we did finally get to go pick them up, they were laying in the lobby, and nobody seemed to be there. Private legal documents just sitting in the lobby. It is completely unbelievable to me that someone in this business could treat families in mourning this way. It caused extreme stress during an already very difficult time and was very disappointing. EDIT- If you work with Jeff at Dengler it is a completely different experience. Caring, trustworthy, kind, spent time explaining and planning everything, and everything went wonderfully. I would recommend asking that Jeff and ONLY Jeff takes care of your loved one.

I'm not one for reviews because sometimes it is so easily ruined by one small word but I want everyone to know how great these people are. My father passed away suddenly and very unexpectedly. He was 56 and never thought to prepare for his passing until at least 60. I called Dengler beacause of there location having no idea what to look for. That night they came out and thru all the commotion and sadness they remained so professional and kind. We changed the services multiple times within the 7 days after and they made it happen every time. My family has never really experienced a loss and we had no clue how to handle any of it but they talked us thru it and i never got a greedy vibe from them. My dad would have really liked them. Idk how they got into this business but it were they belong. Can't thank them enough.

Gail was helpful and compassionate for us, nothing he did went unnoticed. The appearance and presentation at the service was first rate and we were very proud. Highly recommend. Nice place for a viewing.
