Having to handle arrangements for an estranged family member, thousands of miles away, was made so much easier by the good people at Alaskan Cremation Society. They were helpful in getting information to complete death certificates and just generally nice to speak with. They were also the most inexpensive option I found. I highly recommend.

While on vacation, my mother suddenly passed away while in Alaska. It was extremely upsetting and unexpected, but Dominic helped us through this crisis; he was trustworthy, to the point, knew we just wanted to get her home back to Canada, and provided speedy service. He didn't try to upsell us on anything, and I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of in our time of mourning. I would highly recommend them.

After the very sudden loss of our grandmother, this was the first place recommended by the hospital. So we picked it, and went to set up arrangements. The man who helped us, (whose name we never got), immediately only seemed interested in how much money he was going to get out of us. We asked for a viewing, which was an extra charge; and lead to nothing but disappointment. They didn’t fix up her face at all, leading to a collapsed nose; and an odd set mouth as well as a freezer burnt nose. They didn’t change her out of her hospital gown, and just left her tucked under a blanket. They just left us in there alone, no direction; no comfort or attempting to help in any way. Meanwhile, they sat out in the lobby complaining about having to do their job. Towards the end, when her head started drooping; we informed them politely. Thinking they’d go and gently move her head, nope! I watched, as they violently picked up and jerked around my grandmother’s head. And to top it all off, they seemed completely uninterested in us; or her! Today we picked her up, and all they cared about was our money. Again, no comfort; no condolences, nothing. I will NEVER use this place again, as they made an already shocking and painful ordeal a hundred times worse.
