We have used Carnes Funeral Home twice now. Our funeral director Mary Jo was so caring and helpful throughout the entire process. Their Texas City location facilities are very nice and welcomed my family with care and professionalism. No one ever wants to think about final arrangements however if you ever find yourself needing to make such arrangements, CFH will definitely take good care of you! Thank you so much Mary Jo and Elizabeth for reaching out to me with words of comfort and encouragement also for remembering my moms birthday today 9/6. We miss her dearly…I very much appreciate you both!

this happened a year ago but im finally able to write a review about my horrible experience. my grandmother was on hospice and when she passed this FH picked her up. it took them about 3 hours to get there which wasn't really a problem but when the person finally did get there he explained that they sent him out by himself then he clapped his hands together and excitedly said SOOO who wants to help me move the body. it was VERY disrespectful! my whole family was grieving the loss of one our dear family members the last thing we wanted to do was have to be the ones to put her on that gurney to be taken away from us. when no one spoke up he said "i need help i cant move her by myself all you have to do is help lift then i will wrap her IN PLASTIC?! and take her" my poor husband and mother had to be the ones to help ( we were all very confused as to what he meant by wrap her in plastic as we all come from nursing and hospice backgrounds) once they were done he didn't give us a chance to say goodbye one last time just said ok bye! and left. i will never forget this moment it will stick with me for the rest of my life. if they were short staffed we would've been ok with waiting so we wouldn't have had to move her ourselves. please do better in the future.

I'm going to go ahead and update this review since it doesn't let me add another one. Today it's May 1st 2024 and yet I still haven't received my sons death certificate who passed away since November 14th 2023 this place is ridiculous. We have called and their response is they are still waiting on the statistics department yet when we call the department they tell us they haven't received anything from them. If there was a way I could put zero stars I would. I don't recommend this funeral home for nobody. At first they want to act all nice but once they get their money their don't care. So rude and unprofessional but then it comes with the cheap price they charge. It took them a whole before I could get my son back to me and when they did they didn't even give me his death certificate. Two months later I got it only to find out that it was wrong ad was told they were going to fix a month later I found out they haven't even sent the request to get it fix. After you having to deal with a loss on top of that you have to deal with their unprofessional work and their ignorance. Specially that lady MARY JOE that you can never reach her and when you she hangs up the phone on you.
