Losing a loved one is difficult, and a time when emotions are jagged. For us, having Lance guide and support us through the funeral planning and decision making process was incredibly comforting to us. We were extremely pleased with the amount of time Lance spent with us looking through old (and recent) photos, commenting on them, listening to our stories about our loved one’s childhood, the family, etc. He listened with his heart and really grasped who we had lost, even though he had never met him. Trina created a beautiful slideshow with the photos we provided. It has been complimented by family and friends across the country. Lance is extremely professional, but also has a keen sense of humor. Our family was able to give our loved one a beautiful “home-going”, thanks to everyone at Columbia Mortuary. Columbia Mortuary took a very painful situation and removed as much stress from my plate as was possible. Nothing will ever make the loss of my son ok, but I can tell you that Lance and team were so accommodating, helpful, understanding and didn’t bat an eyelash at a single request of mine. The service was beautiful and ran very smoothly. This allowed us to focus on why we were there: to say goodbye to a very special person in all our lives. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. They have a way of treating everyone who comes in as they are a member of their own family and I truly appreciated being treated that way in my hour of need.

Throughout our experience, the staff at Columbia was extremely caring and empathetic. Losing a loved one is never easy, but the kind, supportive staff certainly helped us get through a tough situation.
