We recently required the services of Church and Chapel for our Father who passed away in January. Church and Chapel encouraged him and my mother to do pre-planning of their funeral back in 2016. This had made it incredibly simple for us as Church and Chapel had kept all of the information for us. Their expertise and care of our Father and all of the items involved in the funeral itself was essential during this very stressful and sad period. There was a lot of coordination involved in carrying out of the plan that was put together years ago. With Church and Chapel working these details we were able to concentrate on the needs of the family. After my mom passed away in January of 2021 at only 50 years old, I was suddenly thrust into the world of grief, while trying to plan a funeral for the first time ever, for someone who meant the world to me. What is the right place? How much should it cost? Where do you even begin? To honor my mom in the best way, I had specific requirements for where I'd hold her funeral. I needed a place that would provide compassionate and kind care, would have streaming capabilities because we have family halfway across the world who couldn't attend, and a place that would allow for a cremation service/viewing in a hopefully comfortable setting to honor my mom's Korean customs and heritage. After visiting several funeral homes in the Milwaukee area, I was feeling truly lost. The options were that I could either pay a minimum of $10k for a funeral with compassionate staff in a spacious funeral home, that lacked wifi for calling my family in South Korea, or I could pay $7k for staff who approached our interaction like a car salesman; and where they would cremate my mother in a garage and set up lawn chairs for my family and I. With these options, I felt like I had no where to turn. Thankfully, I was so wrong. I found Church and Chapel just a day later and set up a meeting at the Brookfield location with low hopes, due to my experiences already. Immediately upon meeting with the staff, however, I felt the most genuine care and compassion from them. They truly cared and wanted to help me honor my mom in the best way possible. And when we discussed further, I found out that their fees were even more affordable than the car salesman, garage cremation funeral home. Church and Chapel had streaming capabilities, wifi, a cremation viewing room, and a genuinely kind and compassionate staff. Literally everything I had hoped to have. I signed a sales contract with them immediately and that very day, in a matter of hours, they picked my mom up from the hospital and brought her to the funeral home to prepare for the funeral. Church and Chapel guided me through the entire planning process and laid out very clearly which days I needed to stop by, in order to select floral arrangements, and drop off pictures of my mom, her makeup and her funeral outfit. They even let me come the day before the funeral to do a personal viewing to ensure my mom's traditional Korean dress, hair, and makeup were exactly right. And my god, were they. My mom had a very hard last few weeks of life and didn't look herself when she passed, but Church and Chapel's staff did her hair and makeup so perfectly that my mom looked like herself again. She truly looked like she was sleeping and when I saw her, I couldn't stop crying. The staff honored my requests and more. On the day of the funeral, every single staff member was so warm and kind and my family felt so cared for. Truly. Even at the end, when I was handed a bag that contained my mom's death certificate, the registry, thank you notes, and images of my mom's fingerprints, the staff member expressed her condolences and praised us for such a beautiful funeral. The staff of Church and Chapel truly went above and beyond to make everything as perfect as could be. They helped me end the most tumultuous month of my family's life with the most beautiful funeral to honor my mother. I can't thank Church and Chapel enough and would recommend them 100000000000x over.
