My father-in-law passed away the week before Christmas and his funeral service was the Friday before the Christmas weekend. The funeral home gave us the option to schedule on this day. I appreciated their professionalism when picking him up from the house. However there were several things I didn't like during the service. #1, the rental casket (he had a cremation) was dirty inside and out. The lid of the casket had stains and there was dirt on the outside of the casket as they didn't bother cleaning it. #2- I've never had to ask for a second box of tissues at a funeral home... where a bunch of people are there to cry and mourn. When I asked for a second box of tissues I was directed to the only box of tissues that they had provided. They did begrudgingly get out a second box of tissues for mourners to use after I pressed the matter. #3- I have never felt so rushed after a funeral service. As soon as the service concluded the director said that they would dismiss us by row to let us, "pay your final respects and then return to your vehicles." I have never been told to return to my vehicle directly after a funeral service and I felt rushed out because we were an inconvenience to them. Then as soon as the last person was out of the building they locked the doors behind us. I understand that they have personal lives and that it was close to Christmas, but if it was an inconvenience for them to have scheduled the funeral for that day then they should have told us that we could not hold the funeral service that day. I wouldn't use them again.

When our family member passed away we knew they would be in great hands. They respected our requests for privacy and explained everything we needed to know for the choice we made. They were compassionate towards us and our situation. They did not try to push us to spend an outrageous amount of money and respected our budget. Robbie and his staff are fantastic. They were understanding in the preplanning process for my father. When he died, the staff was prompt in coming to the house. They let us have plenty of time before they took the body. Once the day came for the service, they did a great job with the showing. My family and I will always be thankful for the help and compassion that was shown during our most difficult time.
