On Friday, March 4, 2022 my son, James, friends, and I traveled from Prince Georges County, Md., Washington, D.C., Baltimore County, and Atlanta Ga. to Timmonsville, South Carolina to attend our very dear friend of over 30 years, Eric Richard Burris' Wake and "Home Going" Services. Eric had a "massive stroke" approximately 3-4 weeks prior and had been a patient in Intensive Care. I was so emotional and nervous, I told another friend I may have to buy some sort of tranquilizer to stay calm (& not embarrass myself) when I saw Eric's body. Attempting to prepare myself, I purposely created a mental image of him in the casket. On March 4, 2022 approximately 7:20 pm we entered The Bowman Funeral Home on N. Brockington Street. The set up around Eric was beautifully decorated with his photos, flowers, and plants. I looked down to view Eric and could not believe my eyes! He looked so peaceful, handsome, and calm. I touched him and said "Thank you Lord, Eric is at peace." I did not cry and was not sad, not one bit. Everyone was so amazed regarding how Eric looked. His skin was smooth, his mixed gray hair and beard were neatly trimmed. To GOD BE THE GLORY for the staff of The Bowman Funeral Home.
