Bergin Funeral Home recently handled the arrangements for my father's passing, and I cannot say enough about the compassion, professionalism, and care we received throughout the entire process. Scott, the Funeral Director, was especially wonderful—he went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was handled with grace and respect. We chose to have a graveside service, and even without a formal wake, the support from the team at Bergin made us feel as though we were given all the time and space we needed to honor my father in a meaningful way. Scott was incredibly attentive, offering guidance when needed, but also allowing us the freedom to personalize the service to truly reflect my father's life. The kindness and sensitivity shown by everyone at Bergin Funeral Home turned a very difficult time into a peaceful and memorable experience. Scott and Stacy displayed exceptional kindness and compassion. Scott was instrumental in planning the funerals for my aunt and uncle, who passed away within a short time frame. Our family has recently been using Bergin Funeral Homes of Waterbury to help us with the passing of our loved ones. As our family ages, it seems we have had to contact them far too often, but you know how these unpleasant things go. Their Funeral Director Scott Griffith has been wonderful, and we've had to engage his services several times in recent years. Each time we've contacted Scott and requested his services, the final arrangements for our loved ones were meticulously directed, everything was clearly explained, and all the necessary components were put into place to a flawless no-worry conclusion. We recently used Bergin Funeral Homes in July of 2022 to help us with the final arrangement for my aunt who passed after a brief illness. The stress of her decline as the result of a stroke spanned several weeks, and that awful process also had an impact on her physical appearance. It was a difficult transition to witness and it had left us all with a sad memory of her last moments. When I arrived the evening of her wake and approached her casket, I stood there for more than a moment as a wave of relief washed over me, it was as if night had turned to day. Scott had somehow restored her appearance to a time reminiscent of better days, and to such a degree that she seemed to be peacefully sleeping. It takes real skill to be able to change a bad last memory like that into a memory that lends a sense of tranquility and dignity in such an unfavorable situation. In the case of my mother who passed 15 months ago, Scott's preparations were just as masterful. He was able to take the short sleeve gown that she wore at our May wedding 35 years ago, and that no longer fit her, and convert it into a long sleeve gown(because she was always cold and it was March),that looked like something she just bought at a boutique. I hope I won’t need Scott's services again any time soon, but we'll continue to call him should the need arise. Thank you!
