I had to give them one star to be able to post. I didn’t want to give them any. My uncle passed away July 31 2024 bar price was called appointment was made and arrangements were set. On the night of visitation, they told us we could only get one family car when Two requested because they did not have a driver for the another one. Onto the funeral Monday August 5 , the funeral Director was rude to guest as well as the family. The family was also informed on the day of the funeral. The tent was being put up for the service and then taken back down due to inclement weather moving in. Again Understandable so far. His flowers were not brought to the graveside or to the church. His widow was called the day after the funeral to come to the funeral home and pick them up. The pictures attached are from yesterday. There’s not even a grave marker. The grass is covered the grave they have not even given us ample amount of time to get a headstone. Do not recommend them, especially when a family is going through the loss of a loved one.

I never make reviews online but I was extremely disappointed in my grandmothers funeral. We were unable to get a police escort (understandable, it happens) however, my grandmother was driven off in the hearse before we were even able to line up as a family to try and proceed to the cemetery. It was unorganized and it felt thrown together in that aspect. It would have been nice to have had someone direct us to ensure we were able to ride to the cemetery together, as my grandmother intended. I realize without a police escort, we would have been broken up along the way- but we were not even given the chance to try.

Our experience with Barr-Price Funeral Home was excellent! From the first phone call to setting up the arrangements. Mary was the best!!! She was professional, knowledgeable, and treats you like family. At a time like this, you want a funeral home who wants the best for the family. That would be Barr-Price. I will certainly recommend them to others!

Thompson Funeral Home Lexington

4720 Augusta Rd, Lexington, SC 29073

The history of Thompson Funeral Home dates back to 1928 when J.R. "Buddy" Thompson started the business with the simple idea of providing unparalleled personal service to the families of Cayce, West Columbia, and Columbia. In return, through the years the people of this area have been very faithful to Thompson Funeral Home. In 1935, "Buddy" Thompson completed the first building in this area that was built strictly for the use as a funeral home. That building still is operational today at 200 State Street in West Columbia. In 1999, Thompson Funeral Home opened its second location in Lexington to better serve all the families of Lexington County. When you meet our people, you will see the familiar faces of local residents who have lived and worked in the community for years, said John B. Halloran, Managing Director of Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park. With assorted backgrounds and years of experience, our staff understands the local customs, needs and expectations of the community, providing unparalleled service in your greatest time of need.
