My father passed away during the time of the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Emily was so kind, compassionate, and detail oriented all while dealing with major issues from the storm. I never felt like I was a burden to them even though I knew they had many challenges they were dealing with. I really appreciate them.

In 2019 when a family member passed away, we were referred here by a well known funeral home due to them not being able to provide services because of their cost. In the past 5 years, we’ve had to use Asheville Area Alternative Funeral Home 3 times and all 3 times they have done such an amazing job with our loved ones and treated them and us with respect and kindness! We have been very pleased with their services and received as great of care at probably half the cost of other funeral homes. We would highly recommend them!! Thank you for all you’ve done for our family!

Very nice people and they certainly do get the job done at a reasonable cost. The building doesn't look like much on the outside , but the inside is beautifully decorated. I gave them four stars due to a couple of minor, yet important to me, incidences that happened. I wanted to make a payment over the weekend and the person I talk to said she would be in the office later that day and try to reach me. If not, she would leave a message for the office person to call me on Monday. By Wednesday no one had called, so I did. Office person had was that I would be calling on Monday to take care of the bill. That was not at all how it was set out. Something got lost in translation. I was the one who paid for the cremation, but someone else was designated to go pick up the remains. Without me knowing, they contacted the person to pick up the remains, which she did, and the staff gave her all the copies of the death certificate. They were supposed to contact me when the death certificates were in. I was waiting to hear from them so I could take the next steps. She did not realize she had all the copies. Until after we talked. I just feel like they could have communicated a little better with each other and with me, hence the lower rating.
