They were kind and respectful but I feel there should be some attention to detail, considering the HUGE cost of the very basics. There were no tissues in the room and I was a mess. No waters, no nothing to create comfort. It was hot and stuffy and not at all comforting. I spent thousands for the bare minimum for my dad and feel we weren’t even offered the basics in comfort. Please, offer cold waters (maybe gingerale for those of us with sick tummy’s over grief). Offer a surplus of SOFT, lotion tissues. The candy dish was empty in the center of the table, offer mints or other treats to help folks focus elsewhere. I understand Nevada has a funeral committee to ensure proper care and following rules, but that also translates to very high prices for families, it only seems fair to have the bare minimum for people so when they’re signing their loved ones and savings away, they have tissues to cry into.

The funeral director, Carlen Thomas, was excellent. Very professional without being cold or too official; compassionate without being cloying or overly sentimental. She got everything done efficiently and was respect toward my family and toward the loved one we lost. Would highly recommend Walton’s, especially if you’re feeling overwhelmed and need expert guidance without the pressure.
