I attended a funeral where a couple of gentleman where in wheelchairs and was unable to enter the chapel to view the service because the staff was unwilling to accommodate them. It was disheartening to witness someone not being able to pay their last respects to a loved one. All businesses should be in compliance with state laws in regards to people with disabilities and their needs.
I visited Inglewood Mortuary with my sister, Melva Ross, to finalize arrangements for her husband, Darryl. Teresa Evans assisted us. Teresa is a professional, who is compassionate, kind and listens to her clients needs and circumstances. We arrived stressed and uncertain about what Melva could afford. Teresa patiently listened to Melva express her needs and concerns. She along with Dr. Black provided excellent customer service and we left relieved and satisfied. Thank you. Dr. Bernice Brown
was attempting to attend a funeral service at your establishment, this morning at 10am. I'm in a wheelchair, so I had to enter from the side, and I was ok with that. The problem came into play when your employee opened the door to let me in a small area just on the side of the actual seating area and it was full, and nowhere for me to fit. I was still ok with that. I was going to sit in the back foyer area. He told me that the door to the church couldn't be left open. I was going to tough it out and deal with it.then he said that I couldn't sit in the foyer area and that I had to sit out under the car port. I said, we'll can you leave this door open so that I can feel that I was part of the service. He said no, so I just went back to the car and waited on the people that I came with to come out after the service. For this very reason is why I attend little to nothing, because of worrying about things like this happening to me or not being able to accommodate me being in a wheelchair. Aside from me being mad, it really saddened me. My friends and family are always trying to get me to come out more and for this very reason is why I dont.
My family and I worked with Dr. Black and are extremely pleased with the care, compassion and professionalism with which he handled our loved one’s arrangements. The entire staff at Inglewood Mortuary was extremely professional as well. On the day of the funeral, the individuals delivering the casket were angels. We are so so pleased with this establishment and will most definitely recommend them to any and everyone. Thank you so much for making this difficult time easier for my family and me.
If they assign Delores to you, ask for someone else. Everything you read about her is the truth. I had to manage my dad’s remains from Texas. I paid $400 for the phantom expedited service. Whenever you ask for the manager, Brenin, he’s NEVER there. Theresa is the only one with professional business acumen, and I appreciate her.
