Liz, our funeral director, treated our family like one of her own. She and the rest of the staff took great care of every detail. Not only did they take care of my husband, his service and paperwork but our family. Liz would reach out to check on us and listened to my story when I needed it most. During the worst time of my life they made getting through it a little easier.
My family only uses this funeral home and have for decades now. One month ago, we unfortunately had to use their services for my mother’s passing. They took the BEST care of her and us, as well. Everyone there is so genuinely kind and helpful. My family was so obsessed with how great they made my mom look. They made an incredibly hard time SO much easier. With their help, we were able to plan the funeral of her dreams at an incredibly affordable price. We couldn’t be more grateful to them.
I just wanted to thank the whole team for helping us through our dad's funeral. I especially want to thank Kyra Geil for helping us with the arrangements. You showed us compassion and you help this through it. She was extremely helpful when we didn't know what to do. I want to thank Elizabeth Wulf for helping us with Dad's service. You let us take our time at the grave side. You even helped us through our emotions. Without y'all I would not know how to handle this. Y'all made this super easy for us and if we had any questions or concerns y'all were always there to answer the questions. Y'all went all out for Dad's obituary y'all made it his personality. It was so beautiful thank you so much for everything that your team and y'all have done. ❤️
No one prepares you for the landfall of situations that come with the death of a family member. There is no amount of education that touches the personal notes of emotion felt with the loss of someone close to you. The personal conflicted emotions felt by someone who lives on after the death of a loved one are unique from all others; they are deep, far-reaching, and completely disarming. One minute that family member is with you, then the next second, they are there but completely quiet and void of life. To top off this barrage of happenings, you realize that this person is gone forever in their physical life. Other circumstances arise in the midst of these delicate personal problems, and they need to be handled immediately. Even though everything is operating automatically, there are all the moral and legal actions that need to take place to guarantee that everything is hygienic and ready to go to the next phase of the process. Cremation was the next phase in this process. The demands of reality coupled with handling a new depth of emotions is too much to handle. It seems so unfair that anyone should go through such emotionally wrenching moments and then have to deal with coordinating a full service of funeral arrangements coherently. Not everyone has the instant fortitude to pull themselves out of the shock of losing a family member, much less having to deal with financial things and plan funeral arrangements. Thankfully, there are those who take into consideration the complete emotional condition of the living during these trying times. The caring and patient demeanor of Liz and her solidly professional staff is a good place to start. In the midst of heavy crying and other emotional out pours, Liz clearly and gently explained all the options available. The whole situation was approached and completed with the greatest integrity. Having worked in funding, I watched with sheer objectivity as they (Liz and her associate) shared the details of impending events and the costs associated with each service. I even broke into the conversation and thanked Liz for operating with integrity. Much to my and my mom's gratitude, Liz pulled all the stops when helping to notify all the appropriate parties associated with the death of a military veteran, which helped our healing process. My best and most sincere recommendation when facing the death of a family member is to connect with Liz and her well-developed professional team at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home. Sincerely, I thank you…Mary Winkenwerder
